& Training
The CHCSA promotes community housing within the sector and to the
General Public by providing education and training with regular
"Public Information Sessions" and the delivery of the
"Introduction to Community Housing (ICH) Course.
The CHCSA Public Information Session (P.I.Session), is designed
to provide the general public with information on the benefits and
requirements of community housing as an affordable and accessible
housing option. It is hoped that people attend the P.I.Session before
they attend the "ICH" Course to ensure that community
housing is the housing option for which they are most suited and
vice-versa. It is important to attend this session as part of the registration process for Co-operative Housing. You must book your placement to attend (08) 8362 1022.
The CHCSA Introduction to Community Housing (ICH) Course, is a 3-part
training course for individuals that are entering Community Housing.
This Course is delivered in 3 Regional locations, Southern, Northern
and Central. Many Housing
Co-operatives have attendance at this course as a pre-requisite
to become a tenant/member with their CHO. It covers various topics
such as, obligations and responsibilities, communications, meeting
procedures, management structures, legal and reporting responsibilities
and life in a community housing organisation.
The details for both the P.I.Sessions and the ICH Courses are as follows;
