What is the CHCSA?

The Community Housing Council of South Australia Inc., (CHCSA) is the 'Peak Industry Body' for Housing Organisations. They include Commuity Housing Co-operatives, Community Housing Associations, Preferred Growth Providers and Not-For-Profit Housing Providers in South Australia, registered under the South Australian Co-operative and Community Housing Act.

The CHCSA is a member driven community organisation. The Management Committee is made up of members of community housing organisations and supporting advice and policy development is provided by a Policy Committee, Co-op Representative Council and Housing Associations' Forum.

The CHCSA is managed on a day to day basis by a small, dedicated staff team and with the assistance of committed volunteers deliver services as efficiently as possible. The State Government funds the CHCSA. The CHCSA is the result of the amalgamation in 1997 of the Community Housing Associations Forum (CHAF) and the Community Housing Assistance Service of South Australia (CHASSA).
